#11 – Clinical Information, Diagnosis and MRI

Clinical Consultation

From:  William J Owens Jr DC DAAMLP

This is a current patient that has carotid calicifcations present on the lateral cervical radiograph.  #1 this is important to identify and refer for Doppler Ultrasound Study to ensure there is no turbulance in blood flow.  If there is, that is a contraindication to high velocity manuvers.  #2 this is ONE of the MOST IMPORTANT WAYS to build clinical rapport with primary care physicians.  In this case, I CALLED the PCP, discussed what I found and told her that I am witholding care until he is diagnosed.  NOW that PCP really trusts me from a clinical perspective.  Do not miss these clinical issues, they matter from a patient safety and marketing perspective.  Be a DOCTOR not a TECH.
