MYOFASCIAL TRIGGER POINTS – HANDS-ON THERAPY
This flyer is another example of an “easy in” with primary care or medical specialists that may not understand real chiropractic. I would use this flyer for mid-level providers such as Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants with a particular focus on “PAIN MANAGEMENT”. That is one of the hottest topics now, and if there is a hands-on approach that would also remove the need for narcotics, this is a win-win. When discussing this concept, I would focus on the terms Myofascial Pain Syndrome and Trigger Point Therapy.
If this is a topic that interests you, Simons and Travel wrote the book on this stuff, there is a double volume set that covers virtually everything you need to know including referred pain patterns. These can even mimic nerve injury particularly in the extremity. This book has been referenced 4738 times in scholarly works since 1992, that is amazing.
